I first met Ute in the1960’s when my late Wife worked together in the Pathology Department in the Royal Berks Hospital in Reading. Dorothy and I used to baby sit for her when her children were much younger. Also she was a great help to me when I wrote my 5th Book entitled ‘Swiss Railways – Six Decades of Change’ She being of German Descent, helped me with a considerable amount of translation into English used in the book. We used to meet in the Dundas Hotel, by the Kennet & Avon Canal. It being about halfway for both of us. The Publican thought we were a married couple! I am going to miss her very much indeed we used to have a telephone conversation regularly. I am now 92 years old and not very mobile any more so the telephone conversations were of great interest. She was a great Lady and she spoke perfect English. Philip Kelley
